Extremely dangerous cold is likely this Sunday into early next week. Temperatures across the area will fall well below freezing, with overnight lows in the single digits expected across northern and northwestern portions of the forecast area. During the coldest period, likely from Sunday into early Tuesday morning, daytime highs will remain at or below freezing for central and northwestern portions of the area. Frostbite can occur quickly and hypothermia is likely with prolonged exposure to these temperatures. Damage to exposed pipes and water main breaks are likely.
