The combination of dry soil conditions & vegetation, along with breezy conditions & very low afternoon minimum relative humidity values, an elevated risk of wildfire danger exists today. Fires may more easily escape control, and open burning is discouraged. Heed local burn bans and use caution if burning.

Wind will diminish some over the next couple of days, but with the very dry air in place, a limited fire danger threat will continue.

Expect breezy northerly winds with sunny skies, & noticeably cooler as highs struggle to climb out of the 60s.

The coldest air of this autumn season thus far will reside over the area tonight. Diminishing wind and clear skies will allow temperatures to fall quickly after sunset, and overnight lows expected to dip into the mid 30s to lower 40s. Some patchy light frost can't be ruled out across namely the Golden Triangle area early Thursday morning.

Look for sunny skies on Thursday with mostly light wind. Highs will range from the mid 60s to lower 70s.
