Another round of showers and storms will bring locally heavy rainfall Monday afternoon and evening. As much as 3 inches of additional rainfall could fall on wet soils, and this could lead to localized flash flooding and minor river flooding. Remember to turn around, don't drown!
Isolated severe storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts will be possible Monday as another thunderstorm system moves in during the afternoon and evening hours. The greatest threat for storms should be along and north of the I-20 corridor.
Dangerous heat stress will make a return Monday, with the greatest heat focusing over western and southern portions of the area where heat indices will approach 110 F.
