Dangerous heat stress is expected this week, from Monday through at least Wednesday. Heat advisory and extreme heat warnings are currently in effect. Remember to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and make sure neighbors, relatives and pets have a cool place to spend the day.
A tropical depression has formed in the northeastern Gulf and is forecast to become a tropical storm overnight. This system may bring thunderstorms and heavy rainfall along the Gulf Coast region early to midweek. It is too early to determine what, if any, impacts to the immediate forecast area. Residents and visitors along the Gulf Coast should monitor the forecast.
Dangerous heat will persist into next week, peaking Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect future adjustments and updates to hazard graphics.
