A winter storm is expected to impact the region, with greatest impacts to travel expected across areas north of the I-20 corridor. Particularly across North Mississippi, travelers and residents should prepare for difficult travel and power outages. Precipitation will spread across the area through the night. For most areas along and south of I-20, cold rain is expected. However, farther north, a wintry mix of sleet, and freezing rain is expected with impacts to travel possible. Low temperatures will be in the low to mid 30s.

Friday will be cloudy and cold with widespread rain. A wintry mix of precipitation is expected during the morning across northeast Mississippi. In most areas, precipitation will transition to all rain by late morning. High temperatures will range from the upper 30s north to middle 40s south.
