First Damage Path

Starting Point: 1 Mile South of Collins at 1010 AM CST
Ending Point: 8 Miles West-Southwest of Hebron
Preliminary Rating: EF1 with Maximum Estimated Wind of 105 MPH
Approximate Path Length: 8 Miles

Summary: Damage began on the south side of Collins, where a billboard was blown over and a warehouse building was destroyed. As the tornado rapidly tracked east-northeast, trees were uprooted and snapped. The tornado reached its maximum width along Dennis Knight Road, about midway between Collins and Hebron. Here, numerous large trees were snapped and uprooted, including a swath where a large majority of the trees were snapped off. The tornado continued moving east-northeast, continuing to snap and uproot trees, completely removing the roof of a chicken house, and causing minor to moderate roof damage to two homes.

Summary: Short path of tornadic damage just inside the Covington County border with Jones County. Roofs blown off two mobile homes with extensive debris strewn. Partial roof removal off of a frame home. Numerous pine trees snapped and uprooted in a convergent path.
