Prolonged Heavy Rain and Heavy Snowfall Event Continues for Northern California into the Northern Rockies

A prolonged atmospheric river event will continue to bring moderate to heavy rain with a risk for flooding to northern into central California with heavy mountain snow in the Sierras, southern Cascades, and northern Rockies through midweek. The Mission of the International Affairs Office (IAO) of the U.S. National Weather Service is to enhance NOAA/NWS ability to provide the best weather, water, and climate forecasts through international cooperation on hydro-meteorological observations, data exchange, modeling, research, and technology development; and to provide global leadership in setting meteorological standards and building partnerships to save lives and protect property.
