Severe Thunderstorms Across Southeast Texas; Very Active Pattern in the West

Severe thunderstorms with the potential for several tornadoes, including a strong tornado or two, will be possible this afternoon and evening across southeast Texas. Damaging winds and isolated large hail will also be possible. A series of Pacific storm systems will continue to impact the Northwest U.S. into this weekend with periods of strong winds, low elevation rain and heavy mountain snow. Read More >

Showers moving through the area could lead to a light glaze around far NE Montana. Road surfaces dropping below freezing could lead to areas of black ice, leading to slippery conditions. Therefore, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued through 3AM. Give yourself extra time in the morning to clear off any ice that may still stick around.
This Outlook is for December 31 to January 4th. Near normal temperatures and above normal chances for snow are expected for northeast Montana.
2024 was a wild year in weather across northeast Montana. Assuming there are no freak heatwaves or blizzards through the 31st (which they're not to be clear), here are some of the extremes observed through the region. Big thanks to all who give us reports to make this wrap-up possible!
