NWS Meteorologists surveyed damage in southwest Pickens County and determined it was the result of a tornado.

The tornado touched down over open pasture land just east of Nancy Clark Road, and first caused damage along an east-west treeline between two pastures. From there, the tornado tracked just north of east, roughly a half mile north of and parallel to Alabama HWY 32, crossing largely open pasture land which was punctuated by fence lines and thin tree lines. As it crossed Pickens CR1, the tornado snapped 5 power poles and also uprooted a few cedar trees. The tornado continued briefly to the east of CR1 and lifted before crossing a stock pond.
