River & Flash Flooding January 3, 2015

Flash flooding, areal flooding, and river flooding occurred in association with the heavy rains on January 3rd. This situation may have been aggravated by the heavy rains over the previous 10 days. Many creeks and streams went well out of their banks. Some roadways were washed out and many others became impassable and were temporarily closed. Runoff into the mainstem rivers eventually caused river flooding. This river flooded lasted several days while some stages reached minor flooding levels.
