Heavy Lake Effect Snow; Subfreezing Temperatures in the Eastern U.S.

A multi-day heavy lake effect snow event is expected downwind of Lakes Erie and Ontario through New Year's Day. Effective on or about December 16, the display of radar date on NWS websites will change. The use of Flash will be discontinued, and the display will take on a new look and feel. The display is optimized for both large and small screens.
