Environment
An area of low pressure moved through Kentucky, bringing the winter storm to the area. Warm air above the ground caused more freezing rain to fall than expected in some areas, cutting down snow totals. An upper level component to the storm brought a band of heavy snow across mainly southern sections of the area later in the afternoon into the evening.
