Overview
A strong line of thunderstorms moved throughout the state yesterday afternoon through the early evening hours. Damaging winds, small hail, and heavy rain were the primary hazards yesterday. At times, the storms remained nearly stationary which led to flash flooding.
Wind & Hail:
Wind
Several places saw damaging winds topple trees into roads, cars, and a house. The storms started to develop over White and Benton counties with a general motion to the south east. By the time the storms reached Tippecanoe county they had strengthened enough to become severe. Several trees fell over onto yards and cars.

Flooding
Wednesday morning felt very humid compared to earlier in the week. Dew points were up in the upper 60's for most of the day on Wednesday and that gave any storms that fired up enough moisture to produce some heavy downpours and even some flash flooding. As the storms moved further south, they ran into a more moist airmass and allowed for additional flooding. Some areas saw rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches of rain an hour and this lead to flash flooding across portions of central Indiana.

Environment
A frontal boundary moved south through central Indiana with storms firing ahead of the front. Surface-based CAPE exceeded 3500 J/kg in the hours leading up to the thunderstorm development with effective bulk shear between 30 and 40 knots. At times, storms began training which led to significant flash flooding.
