NOAA Weather Radio station KXI-48 in Newton, which operates on a frequency of 162.450 MHz, is back in service!

The transmitter had been down for several weeks. Lightning struck the tower and sliced the coaxial cable in half, and subsequent water damage contributed to the problem. Technicians and a tower climbing crew were able to make repairs on April 16-17th.
