From 6:00 p.m. CST Friday, December 6th until 6:00 p.m. CST Saturday, December 7th, HAM radio volunteers and NWS SKYWARN Spotters will be taking part in the annual SKYWARN Recognition Day.
What is SKYWARN Recognition Day (SRD)?
SRD was developed in 1999 by the NWS and the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). It recognizes the contributions that volunteer SKYWARN radio operators make to the NWS. During SRD, SKYWARN operators visit NWS offices and contact other radio operators across the United States and the world.
How many NWS Stations are participating in the SRD event?

What hours will WX9ILX be operating?
SRD Operations will begin at 6:00 p.m. CST Friday December 6th until roughly Midnight. We will resume monitoring Saturday December 7th around 8:00 a.m. CST. The event will end at 6:00 p.m. CST Saturday.
