Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. Severe Weather and Tornadoes

A semi-cohesive line of storms that initially formed over parts of Illinois and Indiana early in the afternoon progressed east into east-central Indiana and west-central Ohio by the evening hours. Bowing segments within the line allowed for some strong wind gusts to make it down to the surface. Circulations developed along the segment of the line that moved through Preble and Montgomery counties, with three tornadoes confirmed.
