Since the fall of 1967, H.D. and Mary Jo lived in a house atop Monte Sano Mountain. H.D. was still active in the community, namely at Monte Sano Baptist Church. There, he served as a Sunday School teacher and as a deacon for several years. He didn't forget about weather. He still kept up with the weather conditions at his house even after retirement. Time began to catch up with H.D., though. After a long period of illness, he passed away on Friday, July 16, 2004. He was 87 years old. H.D. is survived by Mary Jo, his brother Harold, two sons, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. As a soldier, he bravely fought to defend our country in World War II. As a husband and father, he helped raised two boys in an exemplary Christian home. As a meteorologist, he set a high standard for those who would follow him by showing a genuine interest in informing and protecting his viewers. H.D. Bagley may be gone, but he will not be forgotten.
