A Heat Advisory has been issued from 10 AM to 7 PM on Wednesday, with afternoon heat indices reaching as high as 109 degrees. Please practice heat safety especially when spending time outdoors!

Heat concerns increase early this week as heat index values will rise into the 100-107 degree range through Thursday. Take extra precautions especially for those sensitive to the heat like the elderly, infants, and those without access to adequate cooling.

Daily chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue this week. Locally heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning are threats posed by the stronger storms. Daily afternoon high temperatures should range from the upper 80s to mid 90s. Heat products may be considered by mid-week as heat indices rise to around 100-108 degrees across much of the Tennessee Valley. Please stay hydrated and use sun protection if spending time outdoors!
