Sinlaku Continues to Impact the Marianas; Severe Weather from the Central US to the Northeast; Late-Season Snow in the Northwest

Sinlaku continues to bring destructive winds, widespread heavy rain/flooding, and storm surge to the Marianas. Showers and severe thunderstorms are expected from the Northeast to the Mid-Mississippi Valley and to the Central/Southern Plains through Thursday. Warm weather continues today with highs in the upper 70s to upper 80s. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 60s/lower 70s. Rain chances will be sparse, around 20% at most.
Thursday will be warm with highs in the 80s. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s/lower 70s.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected along and ahead of a cold front that pushes into Southeast Texas Saturday afternoon/evening. Locally heavy rainfall is possible. Marginal Risk (level 1 of 4) of Excessive Rainfall for areas generally north of I-10. Locally heavy rainfall could lead to instances of minor flooding, especially in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage. Rainfall rates may peak in the 2-3+ inches per hour range.
Warm and humid weather is expected throughout the work week. Highs will be in the upper 70s/upper 80s with lows in the upper 60s/lower 70s. Low rain chances are expected during the work week due to high pressure overhead. A cold front is anticipated to push through SE Texas this weekend, bringing showers/storms and cooler weather in it's wake. Highs next week will be in the 70s with lows in the 50s/60s.
For the Southeast Texas Gulf Coast, expect generally south to southeasterly winds around 10-20 knots with gusts around 15-25 knots and seas of 3-5 feet during the work week. A cold front will push off the coast this weekend, bringing showers and thunderstorms as it passes. Strong northeast winds around 20-30 knots, higher gusts to around 35 knots and seas of 5-9 feet may develop in the wake of the cold front.
