Above normal temperatures continue! Highs in the mid to upper 80s. Strong cold front pushes through late tonight bringing in colder/drier air. Low temperatures in the 50s/60s. There’s a window for patchy fog along the coast late tonight ahead of the cold front.
A strong cold front will push through late Saturday night/early Sunday morning bringing in colder and drier air. Gusty northerly winds in the wake of the front with gusts up to 30-40 mph through Sunday afternoon. Elevated to critical fire weather conditions expected. A Fire Weather Watch will be needed. Wind Advisory possible. Low temperatures in the 30s/40s on Sunday night and Monday night. Wind chills in the 20s/30s Sunday night. Monitoring the potential for a light freeze across the Brazos Valley/Piney Woods Sunday and/or Monday night. A Freeze Watch may be needed.
Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are expected on Sunday and Monday due to gusty northerly winds and drier air in the wake of a cold front. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect Sunday morning through Monday evening for all of Southeast Texas.
A strong cold front will push offshore between 2am-6am Sunday morning leading to hazardous marine conditions. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the bays Sunday and Monday. A Gale Watch is in effect for the Gulf Waters Sunday and Monday. Moderate to strong northerly winds in the wake of the front with 25-30 kt sustained winds and 30-40 kt gusts Sunday morning through Monday morning. A Gale Watch has been issued for the Gulf waters Sunday morning-Monday morning. Strong winds expected to lead to 8-12 ft seas Sunday into Monday. Monitoring the potential for abnormally low water levels during low tide cycles Sunday evening-Monday.
A Gale Watch is in effect for the Gulf waters from 8 AM CST Sunday - 6 AM CST Monday. North to northeasterly winds sustained at 25-35 kt with 40 kt gusts will be possible during this timeframe. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the bays from 4 am CST Sunday through 6 AM CST Monday. North to northeasterly winds at 20-25 kt with gusts of around 30 kt over the bays.
Behind late Saturday night/early Sunday morning's cold front, there is potential for a light freeze across portions of the Brazos Valley and the Piney Woods on Sunday night and/or Monday night.
Due to elevated northerly winds persisting into Sunday night/Monday morning, it's going to feel like it's below freezing for most of Southeast Texas. Low temperatures will be in the 30s/40s with wind chills in the 20s/30s.
