Powerful Pacific System Impacting the West; First Significant Snow for Portions of the East

Power Pacific system will continue to bring significant impacts for Pacific Northwest into northern California the remainder of the week. Dangerous coastal affects, heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and higher elevation mountain snow continues. A winter storm will begin to move into the area on Friday with light snow mixed at times with freezing rain. Then, heavier snow develops Saturday morning and continues through Sunday morning. The heaviest snow will be near the Canadian Border. Much cold temperatures are expected early next week with lows below zero in many locations.
