Snow Across the Great Lakes, Central Appalachians, and Northeast; Unsettled Weather in the West

Light to moderate snow will continue into Saturday over the Great Lakes, Central Appalachians, and Northeast. This weekend into next week, a series of atmospheric rivers will bring gusty winds, periods of heavy rain, and mountain snow to northern California and the Pacific Northwest. A system moving through northern Montana tonight and into Sunday AM may produce hazardous travel conditions due to freezing rain in the forecast. Therefore, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of NE MT through Sunday afternoon. Check the latest forecast before heading out.
Happy Winter Solstice! While it is the darkest day of the year, the following six months will have increasing daylight. By the equinox on March 20th, daylight in Glasgow will have increased by about 4 hours with a sunset at 7:20pm. Look for temperatures to be above normal for this first week of astronomical winter, with highs mostly in the 30s and 40s each day.
