Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. A strong thunderstorm moved through Valley county on July 12th, and produced a tornado near Baylor. The damage path stretched for over 15 miles, and tore up a barn along the way.
Above normal temperatures will prevail the next several days over northeast Montana. Showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday night. There will be chances for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms in the east Friday and Saturday. Otherwise, expect sunny skies most of the time through the next 7 days.
