.DISCUSSION...

No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time.

Any lingering precip has cleared the state with sky conditions
continuing to improve this afternoon. Northwest winds have already
begun to pick up with gusts 15 to 25 MPH and a few isolated gusts
near 30 MPH. Gusty northwest winds will persist through Friday
afternoon which will act to dry fuels. Widespread 15 to 25 MPH
gusts are forecast with gusts 25 to 30 MPH largely confined to
North Georgia on Thursday. Cannot rule out gusts 30 to 32 MPH but
at this time thinking those values will be few and far between.
One thing to be mindful of will be the possibility of downed
trees given the combo of gusty winds and saturated soils. Forecast
minimum RH values on Thursday range from 25 to 35 percent with
the lower values in south-central Georgia (Oconee District).
Despite sufficient mixing of drier air expected tomorrow, the
potential saving grace may be the lower daytime temperatures.
Nevertheless, will continue to monitor wind and RH trends.
