NOAA’s 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlook
For this upcoming hurricane season, NOAA is predicting a near-normal Atlantic hurricane season with 9 to 15 named storms, 4 to 8 hurricanes, and 2 to 4 major hurricanes. For more information on the outlook click here.
June and Summer Outlook
Based on the Climate Prediction Center’s June outlook, north Georgia has equal chances for near normal temperatures and central Georgia has a 33 to 40% chance of above normal temperatures. For precipitation, all of north and central Georgia has equal chances for near normal precipitation.
Based on the Climate Prediction Center’s summer outlook (June, July, August), northwestern Georgia has a 33 to 40% chance of above normal temperatures while the rest of the area has a 40 to 50% chance of above normal temperatures. For precipitation, all of north and central Georgia has equal chances for near normal precipitation.
June Drought Outlook
Based on the U.S. Monthly Drought Outlook for June, drought conditions are expected to persist across much of the area with drought development across much of central Georgia.
