Event Summary: January 5th

Overview

A strong winter storm tracked across the central US and into the Ohio river valley on Sunday bringing heavy snow, sleet, freezing rain to much of Kansas, Missouri, southern IL, and Kentucky.
Snowfall amounts between 8 and 15 inches fell along I-70 and just north from northeast KS towards east central MO.
A sharp gradient of snowfall amounts occurred along the IA / MO border with snowfall totals in southeast IA, northeast MO, and west central IL mainly under 4 inches.
