Overview

A storm system slowly moved from the central plains into northwest Missouri during the day Feb. 2nd. This brought a wintry mix of precipitation to areas along and north of Interstate 80 before noon, and then transitioned to rain from south to north by early afternoon. There were also a few reports of snow with thunder at Fairfield and Cedar Rapids. Snow and sleet ranged from less than half an inch in the Quad Cities to 2.6 inches in Dubuque.  Storm reports of 4 to 4.6 inches were reported in Buchanan and Delaware counties. Rainfall amounts ranged from 0.15 inches at Cedar Rapids to six tenths of an inch at Burlington. High temperatures ranged from 34 degrees at Cedar Rapids up to 45 degrees at Keokuk.
