Dangerous heat will build across the Southwest U.S. through the end of the week with daytime highs of 110-115°F. Overview

Scattered thunderstorms developed in the late afternoon and evening hours on 6 August in southwest Kansas. Microbursts blew down power poles, irrigation systems and damaged structures south of the Woods community. Here is a link to damage survey information.
