Heavy Great Lakes Snow through Friday; Watching Potential for Major Winter Storm Late Week into this Weekend

Overview

A cluster of thunderstorms produced a brief, weak tornado during the mid-afternoon hours of March 24, 2024, on the east side of Garden City, KS. The tornado produced low-end EF-1 damage primarily to residential homes and businesses.

Summary: A tornado developed on the southeast side of Garden City near the Dairy Farmers of America plant, tracking to the north while producing high-end EF-0 to low-end EF-1 damage. Primary damage indicators were residential houses with roof/siding damage, along with some businesses with roof/siding damage. The tornado dissipated on the northeast side of Garden City by the high school.
