A coastal storm continues to bring bands of heavy rain, gusty winds, minor coastal flooding, and rip currents over the Mid-Atlantic region today. Heavy rain showers and thunderstorms persist across the Plains today with possible excessive rainfall over western South Dakota. High winds associated with a strong low pressure system that was once Hurricane Ike knocked down numerous trees and power lines across central Pennsylvania late Sunday night (9/14) and early Monday morning (9/15). Below is a summary of wind damage reports and peak wind gusts.
