A National Weather Service Damage Assessment Team has surveyed the storm damage in St. Clair County. It has been determined the damage was the result of a tornado. The tornado has been rated an EF-1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. Damage estimates were consistent with winds around 90 mph.

A brief tornado touched down near the intersection of Sequoyah Road and Cherokee Road at Stewarts Crossroads. Several trees were blown down along the short path. At least 10 homes suffered minor to moderate damage associated with the fallen trees.
