National Weather Service meteorologists surveyed the damage near Marvel extending from far northeast Bibb County into extreme southwest Shelby County. It was determined that this was a continuation of the Wateroak supercell and that the damage was a result of an EF-1 tornado. Maximum winds were estimated around 105 mph. The tornado touched down in northeast Bibb County in a forrested area just west of the intersection of County Roads 65 and 10. It then traveled northeast snapping off dozens off pine trees. The tornado lifted in a grassy field just north of County Road 10 in Shelby County, between Blossom Street and Springbrook Lane. The damage path was 5.41 miles long and 50 yards wide at its widest point.
A Tornado Warning was in effect from 707 pm until 8 pm for Bibb and Shelby Counties.
