Wright Crossroads EF-0 Tornado (Lee County)

Event Summary

National Weather Service meteorologists surveyed damage in southwest Lee County and determined that the damage was consistent with an EF-0 tornado.

A weak tornado formed along County Road 23 south of Sand Hill Road where several trees were uprooted.  It crossed Sand Hill Road and Wrights Mill Road near Wright Crossroads, and then uprooted several trees at Springwood Drive and Old Creek Trail just inside the Auburn city limits.  The tornado then dissipated as it approached Lake Ogletree.  The tornado was 2.38 miles long and was 150 yards wide at its widest point. The tornado was rated an EF-0 with maximum winds around 70 mph.
