Relative humidity values between 20% and 25% and dry fuels have prompted a Fire Danger Statement for north Georgia, generally along and north of I-20. Winds will be out of the northeast to east at 8-13 mph. Use extra caution if burning today.

Unfortunately, long-range forecast models suggest dry conditions across north and central Georgia through the end of March. While this doesn't mean that rain will not occur at all, it does mean that enough rain needed to improve ongoing drought conditions is unlikely.
