Hot temperatures and high humidity are forecast to continue across the mid-Mississippi Valley into this weekend. Heat Advisories remain in effect. Heavy to excessive rainfall occurring at times through the weekend could bring areas of flooding to parts of the northern Rockies, upper Midwest, central Great Lakes, and southern New England. The best chances for storms to develop will be in the late afternoon to early evening today and will be mainly focused in the eastern Panhandle as well as the south central Panhandle.

We'll be watching a front tracking through the Panhandles later today. Isolated storms will be possible across the majority of the Panhandles, and we may get some scattered storms in the southeast. Primary concern will be strong damaging winds, large hail and intense rain that could lead to flooding can't be ruled out as well.

Another very warm day today with highs in the 90s to nearly 100. There's a low chance of thunderstorms today across portions of the Panhandles. While most areas have about a 20 percent chance for storms Dalhart's chances are more in the 5 to 10 percent chance. Severe storms can't be ruled out across the south and eastern Panhandles.
