Fire Weather Concerns Return This Week
We are keeping a close eye on a potential pattern change that could bring much-needed moisture back to the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. Current forecasts indicate a chance for showers and thunderstorms between March 3rd and March 6th. While there are still several unknowns regarding the exact timing and how many rounds of rain we might see, the overall setup looks favorable for a return of precipitation to our area. We will continue to monitor this system as it develops. Be sure to check back for updates as we get closer to next week.

The warm and dry conditions with most days above normal will continue through the weekend. We do expect a cold front sometime toward the end of the weekend into early next week, followed by the increased chances of precipitation. While it's still a ways out, this pattern has the potential to be a multiday setup of continued rain, but it will all depend on the track of the weather system.

We had a pretty active fire week last week. And while this week may be more tame as far as the winds, it will still be very warm and very dry with some breezy winds, and that will continue the recipe for elevated to critical Fire Weather. So please continue to keep these fire safety recommendations in mind.
