Severe Weather and Flooding Threats for the Central U.S.; Fire Weather Concerns for the Western U.S.

Severe weather and flooding threats continue for portions of the central U.S., with impactful flash flooding possible from southern Kansas to southwestern Missouri. Extremely Critical fire weather conditions will develop across the Great Basin and Southwest on Friday, with dry and windy conditions through the weekend. Another chance for severe thunderstorms is expected from this afternoon through this evening across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. The primary hazards will be damaging wind gusts followed by large hail. A stronger storm is possible across Texas and Beaver counties which may lead to a larger hail threat and potentially a tornado if a storm can become strong enough.

There is a low chance for severe thunderstorms today. These will most likely start this afternoon in the northwestern panhandles. Then they would progress east to southeast through the rest of the afternoon and evening.
