An upper level storm system will provide widespread but light precipitation to the area on Wednesday and Wednesday night. Average rainfall (melted snowfall) totals are expected to average around 0.1 to 0.2 inches area wide. There is a 5 to 20% chance of seeing as much as 1/2" rainfall/melted snow. There is a 10-60% chance of seeing 1/2" or more snowfall in the far northwest.

It will be cool and damp Wednesday as a upper system moves across the area. Precipitation will move across the area from southwest to northwest impacting mainly the southern Texas Panhandle in the morning and mainly the northeast Panhandles by late evening and overnight. Some wintry mix is expected across the northwest Panhandles with minimal impacts in the afternoon and evening, although residents will need to keep an eye for slick spots on roadways.

Some light precipitation is expected to wrap around the backside of Wednesday's start system and this will provide a final shot at light precipitation on Thursday, Based on the track of the system, amounts are expected to be very light with just a trace to a few hundredths of an inch rain/melted snow expected.
