Widespread showers and thunderstorms are forecast for much of the Eastern and Southern U.S. today. Isolated severe thunderstorms may produce large hail and damaging winds over eastern North Carolina and eastern Florida. Lightning and gusty winds will be main hazards with any robust thunderstorm. Will have to also watch for any localized flooding if heavy rains develop on an already saturated surface after rain over the past few days.
