Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding are possible across the central U.S. through Saturday. Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes are all possible. There is an increased threat for wildfire development in the southern to central High Plains. Here's a review of October's weather at a few select locations. In short, October was a continuation of September with below normal precipitation and above normal temperatures across the board. Over the past 2 months, from September 1st through October 31st, Aberdeen (at the airport) has received just 0.21" of moisture which ranks as the 2nd least on record during this time (0.10" in 1952).
