Edouard Continues to Impact Texas; Severe Storms and Heavy Rain from the Lower Great Lakes to Mid-Atlantic

Edouard will continue to bring gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and a flash flood threat over parts of eastern Texas. Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible across portions of the eastern Great Lakes to the Mid-Atlantic today. Severe storms are also expected across the northern Rockies. 2023 New Mexico Fire Weather Overview



2023 was a much less active fire weather season compared to 2022. However, there were still some notable fires across the region. High winds and very low humidity did occur on several days however we avoided prolonged stretches of fire weather for the most part. There was a total of four large wildfires across northern and central NM of which the largest burned roughly 2,200 acres. A brief "Summary of the 2023 Fire Weather Season" details some of these more significant fires to impact New Mexico.
