Coastal Storm Impacting the Mid-Atlantic; Remaining Unseasonably Warm in the Central U.S.

A coastal storm will bring widespread rain, gusty winds, shallow coastal flooding, rip currents, large surf and possible areal flooding over the Mid-Atlantic region through Wednesday. Unseasonably warm to hot temperatures persist in the mid to upper Mississippi Valley, Ohio Valley, and into the Great Lakes and Northeast U.S. through Friday. Read More >

2023 New Mexico Fire Weather Overview



2023 was a much less active fire weather season compared to 2022. However, there were still some notable fires across the region. High winds and very low humidity did occur on several days however we avoided prolonged stretches of fire weather for the most part. There was a total of four large wildfires across northern and central NM of which the largest burned roughly 2,200 acres. A brief "Summary of the 2023 Fire Weather Season" details some of these more significant fires to impact New Mexico.
