Showers and storms will focus over eastern New Mexico today. Severe storms may produce damaging wind gusts and large hail.
Temperatures will heat-up Wednesday and Thursday, increasing the threat of heat related illnesses for those without access to adequate cooling and hydration.
Dry and hot Wednesday and Thursday. Not as hot with isolated to scattered shower and thunderstorm chances favoring southern and eastern areas beginning Friday. A low to moderate risk for flash flooding will exist on area burn scars.
Temperatures will rise over the next week with minor to moderate heat- related impacts likely. Moderate heat risk affects those who are sensitive to heat, especially those without cooling/hydration, and some health systems and industries.
