Isolated-to-widely-scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast along and east of the central mountain chain this evening. Rain showers and high terrain snow showers (>8,500') will then linger from the northern mountains westward after midnight.
A couple of disturbances will bring accumulating precipitation to northern, western, and central parts of New Mexico Tuesday, then mainly to central and northern areas Wednesday.
West winds will strengthen Monday, especially around the high terrain. Southwest winds will peak on Tuesday over the south-central mountains.
After cooler temperatures and some light precipitation over northern, western, and central areas Tuesday and Wednesday, a warmup is expected later in the week with mainly isolated showers and thunderstorms daily.
