There is a marginal risk for strong to severe thunderstorms over northeast and east central New Mexico on Sunday afternoon and evening. The main threats will be large hail and damaging winds from thunderstorms.
Most heat-related deaths occur outside of heat waves. Stay Weather-Ready! Avoid overexertion and stay hydrated.
A seasonably hot Independence Day is expected across northern and central New Mexico. Isolated to scattered storms across the Sacramento Mountains and parts of the eastern plains during the afternoon and evening hours.
Very warm to hot temperatures will prevail. Storms will increase in coverage early next week.
