Breezy to locally windy conditions are expected to return Tuesday for east central and some southeastern locations, especially along the eastern slopes of the central mountain chain south of I-40.
Today will be warmer with readings 10 to 15 degrees above normal over eastern NM. Northwest winds may gust to between 40 and 50 mph in the area from near Clines Corners to Vaughn, Corona, and Mountainair through this evening.
Temperatures will trend cooler Wednesday over eastern NM but it will still be above normal for mid December. Winds will also be lighter.
Thursday will be warmer with westerly breezes across eastern NM. A few areas will be close to record highs (within 3 degrees). The most recent forecast guidance trended temperatures a little lower than previously expected.
