Severe Thunderstorms, Arctic Blast Set to Arrive on Thanksgiving; Dangerous Wind Chills, Lake Effect Snow

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the Southeast. A significant arctic outbreak will arrive in the northern Plains on Thanksgiving and advance farther south and east on Friday into the weekend.   • Annual - Period of Record 131 years (1892 - 2022)
    • ​40th Warmest year on record at 45 degrees, just 0.1 degrees below normal
    • 56th Driest year on record with 13.92 inches, 105% of normal precipitation.
    • 49th Least Snowiest year on record with 73.5 inches, 84% of normal.
    • 20th Least Seasonal Snow (July 2021-June 2022) with 56.9 inches of snow.
    • The peak wind gust for the year was 74 mph which occurred on July 24th
  • Monthly Temperature: 6th warmest July and 3rd warmest September. New Monthly All-time record High of 99 degrees occurred on September 4th.
  • Monthly Precipitation: 2nd driest January on record with just a Trace (1956/1971 had zero rainfall).
  • Monthly Snowfall: 2nd Least snowiest October with just a Trace of snow (Normal is 10.7 inches).
