Severe Weather and Excessive Rain over the South; Strong Pacific Storm to Impact Hawaii

A storm system will produce severe thunderstorms over the Lower Mississippi River Valley, and heavy to excessive rainfall from the Southern Plains through the Ohio River Valley. A strong Pacific storm will bring the potential for flash flooding, severe thunderstorms, strong to locally damaging non-thunderstorm winds, and high elevation snow to the Hawaiian Islands through Friday.     • 33rd Coldest Year on record at 42.7 degrees, 2.4 degrees below normal

    • 16th Wettest Year on record with 17.72 inches, 133% of normal precipitation.

    • 25th Most Snowiest year on record with 110.3 inches, 126% of normal.

    • 28th Most Seasonal Snow (July 2022 - June 2023) with 107 inches of snow.

    • The peak wind gust for the year was 73 mph which occurred on July 26th.

  • Monthly Temperature: 9th coldest February, 3rd coldest March, 
  • Monthly Precipitation: 1st wettest January (2.55 inches), 10th wettest June (3.14 inches), 8th wettest August (1.58 inches)
  • Monthly Snowfall: 1st snowiest January with 36.2 inches.
