Snow Across the Great Lakes, Central Appalachians, and Northeast; Unsettled Weather in the West

Light to moderate snow will continue into Saturday over the Great Lakes, Central Appalachians, and Northeast. This weekend into next week, a series of atmospheric rivers will bring gusty winds, periods of heavy rain, and mountain snow to northern California and the Pacific Northwest.     • 33rd Coldest Year on record at 42.7 degrees, 2.4 degrees below normal

    • 16th Wettest Year on record with 17.72 inches, 133% of normal precipitation.

    • 25th Most Snowiest year on record with 110.3 inches, 126% of normal.

    • 28th Most Seasonal Snow (July 2022 - June 2023) with 107 inches of snow.

    • The peak wind gust for the year was 73 mph which occurred on July 26th.

  • Monthly Temperature: 9th coldest February, 3rd coldest March, 
  • Monthly Precipitation: 1st wettest January (2.55 inches), 10th wettest June (3.14 inches), 8th wettest August (1.58 inches)
  • Monthly Snowfall: 1st snowiest January with 36.2 inches.
