Active Weather for the West, Warming in the East

The potential for heavy snow at higher elevations in the western U.S. will continue for many spots through the weekend. In the meantime, the eastern half of the continental U.S. will transition to above normal temperatures ahead of a pair of cold fronts next week that will bring readings back to closer to normal as we approach Thanksgiving Day.   • Annual:
    • 20th coldest year on record at 44.4 degrees, just 1,2 degrees below normal.
    • 24th wettest year with 13.36 inches, 109% of normal.
    • 12th snowiest year with 100.7 inches, 140% of normal.
    • 14th snowiest snowfall season (July 2021-June2022) with 98.5 inches.
    • Highest wind gust was 75 mph on December 27th.
       
  • Monthly Temperatures: 5th coldest April, 8th coldest May, 9th warmest September and 7th coldest November on record. All-time Record Low for the year set on December 22nd with -42 degrees. All-time monthly Record Low for March of -25 on the 10th. All-time monthly Record High for September of 100 degrees on the 4th.
     
  • Monthly Precipitation: 9th wettest January, 9th wettest February, 6th driest June, 9th driest July, 5th wettest August and 9th driest October on record.
     
  • Monthly Snowfall: 10th snowiest January and 9th snowiest November on record.
