Event Overview

On August 13, 2004 Remnants of once Hurricane Bonnie, which made landfall on the Florida Panhandle, tracked northeastward across Eastern North Carolina. The effects of Bonnie included some strong gusty winds to coastal areas and heavy downpours. However most of the damage associated with Bonnie was the result of three tornadoes which spun up as the center of the tropical depression with remnants of the eye wall crossed the area. Bonnie also brought heavy rainfall across parts of Eastern North Carolina. This would saturate the ground ahead of Hurricane Charley making flooding more likely as that storm passed through the area.

The loop will depict Composite Reflectivity in the upper left panel, 0.5 degree base velocity in the upper right panel, 0.5 degree base reflectivity in the lower left panel, and storm relative velocity in the lower right panel. For velocity products, green areas show inbound velocity while red areas show outbound velocity. Where they come together, it is indicative of rotation.
