Overview

Severe storms moved across northwest Iowa, and nearby areas of northeast Nebraska, far southeast South Dakota, and southwest Minnesota on Father's Day 2020, Sunday, June 21st. Early storms produced up to 1 inch hail in the lower Missouri River Valley. By mid-late afternoon, the storms became largely wind producers, with a swath of wind gusts up to 60-65 mph across far northwest Iowa from Hawarden to Sheldon and Spirit Lake.
