How to Handle Multiple Warnings in a County/Parish
Situation: A Severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for one or more counties/parishes
Now a tornado warning is needed for one or more of those same counties/parishes
Issue a TOR for the counties/parishes and times needed
a) Do not worry about SVR
When creating a followup for the SVR, do not remove the TOR area unless the parent storm has moved out of the area.
Add a headline to the SVR followup stating a TOR is in effect for the overlapping area.
a) Short-fused warnings do not have upgrade or replace capability - WarnGen is not designed for this
Followup the TOR as usual.
If the TOR is cancelled early and the storm no longer poses a severe weather threat, go ahead and cancel the SVR.
