Beryl To Bring Significant Impacts to the Texas Coast Sunday; Dangerous Heat Wave Continues in the Western U.S.

Beryl is forecast to bring damaging hurricane-force winds to portions of the lower and middle Texas coast late Sunday night and Monday. Hurricane and Storm Surge warnings are now in place for portions of the Texas coast. Meanwhile in the west, intense widespread dangerous heat will continue through early next week. Record or near-record high temperatures expected again today across the region with Excessive Heat Warnings in effect areawide. Outdoor surfaces will be VERY hot. Protect their paws. Walk pets early in the morning or closer to sunset.
An extended period of intense heat is underway with many long-standing high temperature records in jeopardy. The long duration and intense magnitude of the heat is deadly and extreme caution is urged to avoid heat exposure.
