Gusty southwest winds are expected through the week this week. The strongest winds are likely on Thursday, which may produce blowing dust in dust prone areas. Critical fire weather conditions are also expected with these winds Thursday.
A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for Thursday, April 17th from 10am to 8pm MST for gusty winds, low humidity and low fuel moisture which will lead to easier fire starts and the potential for rapid spread of new or existing fires.
High temperatures across southeastern Arizona will transition from above normal today and Wednesday to below normal by this weekend. After a front brings a chance of rain on Saturday, temperatures begin to rise again Sunday into early next week.
