Dangerous Heat in the Western U.S.; Flash Flooding Possible Across Portions of the South

High temperatures in the 90s to 100s and warm overnight temperatures will continue across parts of the Interior Northwest, central California, and the Great Basin. Thunderstorms and heavy rain may produce scattered flash flooding across much of the Southern Rockies into the Southwest, particularly over sensitive burn scars in New Mexico, and across the Southeast into the Carolinas. Office Tour Policy


 

Strict guidelines are in place for tours of government offices. Here are the tour policies for the National Weather Service Sacramento Forecast Office. 

The rules for tour groups are as follows...

  • No drop in tours are allowed
  • All tours need to be scheduled ahead of time (2 weeks) by contacting us at the webmaster link below
    • Please send your request at least 2 weeks ahead of time
    • Group size is limited to 30 people in two groups of 15. School age groups must have chaperones
    • Age is limited to 4th grade (around 10 years of age) or higher
  • Everyone must be a U.S. citizen
  • A photo ID (for adults) is required

NOTE:

  • Tours will be conducted on "fair weather" days only.  If severe weather, winter weather or flooding ends up being expected on the day of your visit, your tour will be rescheduled and/or cancelled.
