Heat and humidity are expected to continue to increase through the end of the week. Heat index values will reach into the upper 90s and lower 100s across much of southeastern Pennsylvania by Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms start out isolated in coverage and become more numerous overnight. Only brief breaks in the chance for rain exist through Friday. A cold front pushing through on Friday/Friday night will force widespread showers and storms and perhaps severe thunderstorms.
