A significant, prolonged heat wave will occur through the end of the week. The hottest and muggiest days will be Wednesday and Thursday. Heat stress will be the biggest issue. Those who will be working outside should take frequent breaks and be sure to keep hydrated. Only isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening, and again Wed PM. The RH may still dip into the 30s on Thursday and Friday, despite the dewpoints being 65 to 70 degrees each afternoon since it will be very hot at the same time.
