Expect abundant sunshine to continue today with light wind from the south/southeast and minimum RH dropping into the 20-25% range this afternoon. There remains some possibility areas in the northwest and along the Allegheny Mountains could see RH in the upper teens. However, winds and 10-hour fuel moistures remain marginal. A close eye will need to be kept on conditions moving through this afternoon as elevated wild fire spread could be possible even with the lighter winds. Tomorrow will feature similarly low RH values and winds gusting up to 20mph. These conditions along with low fuel moistures will bring an increased risk for wildfire spread on Thursday. Winds will be blowing out of the south/southeast. PA DCNR partners indicated that fuel moisture levels could drop below 10% Thursday and Friday. Wind and minRH forecasts are near key fire weather thresholds in some areas later this week and we will continue to coordinate with partners on the potential for elevated wildfire spread risk. The overall weather pattern into the weekend will feature a warming trend with little to no rainfall over most of central PA.
