Showers and thunderstorms will overspread the region this morning, beginning first over the Laurel Highlands just before daybreak. Heavy rainfall amounts exceeding what the ground is capable of holding before channeling it into runoff will lead to the potential for flooding of small streams, creeks and poor drainage areas, mainly across the southwestern part of PA including the Laurel Highlands. Locally 2 to 3 inches of rain will occur across the Laurel Highlands of Southwest PA, with 1 to 2 inches further east into the York, Harrisburg and Lancaster areas. Further North, between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain will likely fall across the area spanning 45 miles to the north and south of Interstate 80, with less than one-half of an inch near the PA/NY border. A second and third round of storms is expected across the southern third of PA late in the day and this evening. Some of those storms may also produce strong wind gusts. Near and to the North of the Route 322 corridor, cloudy and relatively cooler and more stable air will limit the threat of thunder, with periods of moderate rain expect. Scattered showers and isolated storms are possible late tonight and Monday, but the threat of flooding or severe winds accompanying them will be low. Tuesday will be dry, but RH won't go below 50%. More showers and storms arrive later Wed. && Warren- Including the city of Warren 238 AM EDT Sun Aug 16 2026 Today Tonight Mon Cloud Cover Mcldy Mcldy Mcldy Precip Type Tstms Tstms Showers Chance Precip (%) 60 90 30 Chance of Thunder (%) 50 50 0 Temp (24h trend) 80 (-1) 67 (+5) 79 RH % (24h trend) 77 (+25) 100 (+7) 61 20ftWnd-Val/AM(mph) Lgt/Var Lgt/Var 20ftWnd-Rdg/PM(mph) Lgt/Var Lgt/Var NW 6 G14 Precip Amount 0.22 0.24 0.03 Precip Duration 3 6 1 Precip Begin 7 AM Continuing Continuing Precip End Continuing Continuing 3 PM Mixing Hgt(ft-agl) 2130 450 3470 Transport Wnd (mph) S 10 W 8 NW 13 Vent Rate (kt-ft) 19170 3150 38170 Dispersion 5 2 5 DSI 1 1 Sunshine Hours 4 5 Max ADI Early 24 Fair 6 Very Poor 31 Fair Max ADI Late 25 Fair 5 Very Poor 55 Gen Good Max LVORI Early 5 9 8 Max LVORI Late 4 9 4 Remarks: ADI is Atmospheric Dispersion Index by Lavdas.
