Our significant, prolonged heat wave will continue through Saturday, Independence Day. The hot and muggy air will push heat index values above 100 in many areas each afternoon. The higher elevations will stay just a couple of degrees lower than the valleys. Heat stress is still expected to be the biggest issue. Those who will be working outside should take frequent breaks and be sure to keep hydrated. The RH may still dip into the 30s each afternoon despite the dewpoints being 65 to 70 degrees each afternoon. The lowest RHs will be found across the South-Central Mountains and the Lower Susquehanna Valley. A cold front will drop slowly to the south over PA this weekend, and result in numerous showers and thunderstorms. The air will also cool down some due to the increased cloud cover and any showers and thunderstorms. That cooling will greatly reduce the worry for heat dangers for the Alleghenies on Saturday and for all of Central PA on Sunday. && Warren- Including the city of Warren 242 PM EDT Thu Jul 2 2026 Tonight Fri Fri Night Sat Cloud Cover Mclear Pcldy Pcldy Mcldy Precip Type Showers Tstms Tstms Tstms Chance Precip (%) 20 30 50 70 Chance of Thunder (%) 0 30 50 50 Temp (24h trend) 71 (+1) 93 (-2) 68 88 RH % (24h trend) 89 (-5) 48 (+2) 97 56 20ftWnd-Val/AM(mph) Lgt/Var Lgt/Var 20ftWnd-Rdg/PM(mph) Lgt/Var W 6 G15 Lgt/Var NW 5 G14 Precip Amount 0.01 0.05 0.11 0.03 Precip Duration 0 1 2 8 Precip Begin 9 PM 1 PM Continuing Continuing Precip End 1 AM Continuing Continuing Continuing Mixing Hgt(ft-agl) 440 4710 460 3830 Transport Wnd (mph) W 8 W 17 SW 9 NW 10 Vent Rate (kt-ft) 3080 70650 3680 34470 Dispersion 2 5 2 5 DSI 2 2 Sunshine Hours 9 5 Max ADI Early 7 Poor 78 Good 10 Poor 44 Gen Good Max ADI Late 4 Very Poor 94 Good 5 Very Poor 47 Gen Good Max LVORI Early 4 5 4 5 Max LVORI Late 6 1 6 1 Remarks: ADI is Atmospheric Dispersion Index by Lavdas.
