Deep low pressure over Long Island early this morning will slowly pull away to the east today reaching Cape Cod this afternoon and the Gulf of Maine tonight. A few showers could still drift south on the back side of this low across the North Central Mountains, Middle Susquehanna Valley and Poconos of Northeastern PA today, while dry conditions with mostly sunny skies and comfortable temperatures and humidity will be found across the remainder of Central and Western PA today and again on Friday. Northwest winds today will be moderately gusty and in the upper teens to low 20s (mph). Mid and high clouds will increase friday night and Saturday, but rain should hold off across the District until Saturday night.
