Mid-morning update... Confidence remains highest in minimum RH values in the low 20s across the state later this afternoon. There remains some possibilities ares in the northwest and along the Allegheny Mountains could see RH in the upper teens. However, winds and 10-hour fuel moistures remain marginal. A close eye will need to be kept on conditions moving through this afternoon as elevated wild fire spread could be possible even with the lighter winds. Previous Discussion... Cold start this morning by early April standards with clear skies/light winds beneath dome of high pressure migrating over the Keystone State. Expect abundant sunshine today with light wind from the south/southeast and minimum RH dropping into the 20-25% range this afternoon. The overall weather pattern into the weekend will feature a warming trend with little to no rainfall over most of central PA. The exception will be across the far northwest Alleghenies (ANF) where 0.10-0.50" of rain is forecast between Thursday night and Saturday morning. PA DCNR partners indicated that fuel moisture levels could drop below 10% Thursday and Friday. Wind and minRH forecasts are near key fire weather thresholds in some areas later this week and we will continue to coordinate with partners on the potential for elevated wildfire spread risk. && Warren- Including the city of Warren 1007 AM EDT Wed Apr 8 2026 Today Tonight Thu Cloud Cover Mclear Mclear Mclear Precip Type None None Showers Chance Precip (%) 0 0 20 Chance of Thunder (%) 0 0 0 Temp (24h trend) 55 (+23) 34 (+17) 67 RH % (24h trend) 19 (-32) 59 (-26) 38 20ftWnd-Val/AM(mph) Lgt/Var S 7 G20 20ftWnd-Rdg/PM(mph) S 6 G14 S 6 G15 S 8 G21 Precip Amount 0.00 0.00 0.01 Precip Duration 0 Precip Begin 2 PM Precip End Continuing Mixing Hgt(ft-agl) 3840 510 4220 Transport Wnd (mph) S 16 S 15 SW 24 Vent Rate (kt-ft) 53760 6630 88620 Dispersion 5 3 5 DSI 2 2 Sunshine Hours 12 9 Max ADI Early 33 Fair 12 Poor 50 Gen Good Max ADI Late 78 Good 12 Poor 111 Very Good Max LVORI Early 4 2 2 Max LVORI Late 1 2 1 Remarks: ADI is Atmospheric Dispersion Index by Lavdas.
