A significant, prolonged heat wave will occur through the end of the week. The hot and muggy air will push heat index values above 100 in many areas each afternoon. The higher elevations will stay just a couple of degrees lower than the valleys. Heat stress will be the biggest issue. Those who will be working outside should take frequent breaks and be sure to keep hydrated. Only isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening, mainly in the northeastern third of the state. The RH may still dip into the 30 to 45 percent range both Thursday and Friday despite the dewpoints being 65 to 70 degrees each afternoon. The lowest RHs will be found in the Lower Susquehanna Valley. A front will drop slowly to the south over PA this weekend, and result in numerous showers and thunderstorms. The air will also cool down some due to the increased cloud cover and any showers and thunderstorms. That cooling will greatly reduce the worry for heat dangers. && Warren- Including the city of Warren 210 PM EDT Wed Jul 1 2026 Tonight Thu Thu Night Fri Cloud Cover Clear Mclear Mclear Mclear Precip Type None None None Tstms Chance Precip (%) 0 0 0 20 Chance of Thunder (%) 0 0 0 20 Temp (24h trend) 71 (-1) 97 (+3) 72 94 RH % (24h trend) 93 (-5) 38 (-9) 92 43 20ftWnd-Val/AM(mph) Lgt/Var Lgt/Var 20ftWnd-Rdg/PM(mph) Lgt/Var SW 6 G15 Lgt/Var W 6 G14 Precip Amount 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 Precip Duration 0 Precip Begin 2 PM Precip End Continuing Mixing Hgt(ft-agl) 430 5200 460 5360 Transport Wnd (mph) W 8 W 18 W 8 W 16 Vent Rate (kt-ft) 3010 83200 3220 75040 Dispersion 2 5 2 5 DSI 2 Sunshine Hours 13 11 Max ADI Early 8 Poor 65 Good 7 Poor 63 Good Max ADI Late 4 Very Poor 104 Very Good5 Very Poor 80 Good Max LVORI Early 4 5 4 5 Max LVORI Late 6 1 6 1 Remarks: ADI is Atmospheric Dispersion Index by Lavdas.
