The Bemco salt fog chamber is used to test equipment under the corrosive conditions of a marine environment. The chamber is lined with a corrosion-resistant plastic, and a pair of nozzles located inside sprays a fine mist of salty water over the equipment being tested. A typical corrosion test can run for several days or even weeks. The air inside the chamber can be heated to accelerate the corrosion testing. |

Chamber Specifications
Generally speaking, if a sensor can survive 30 days inside the salt fog chamber then it is most likely that the sensor will survive for years during operational conditions. Example: A wind sensor can be tested that will be installed on an ocean sensor buoy Interior volume: 2.16 cubic meters (1.2 m W x 1.2 m D x 1.5 m H) |
